LOOKING TO PRAISE AND WORSHIP JESUS THE CHRIST, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD. 18 No man has ever seen God at any time; the only unique Son, or the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom [in the intimate presence] of the Father, He has declared Him [He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him and He has made Him known].

Observing the Sabbath Today

The following is a quote from Robert Garner, seventeenth century English Particular Baptist...

Therefore by Sabbath here we are to understand the Lord Jesus only, Who Alone is the Sabbath or Rest of Believers under the Gospel. And to keep this Sabbath from polluting it, is to believe in Him only unto righteousness. For to do any work, I mean to seek righteousness, or peace, or reconciliation with God by any work, is to pollute this Sabbath or this Rest; by Whom Alone such as believe in Him, do and shall enjoy a glorious, an everlasting rest.

You know when you read something fast and you see something that isn't there for a second - I thought you credited the quote to "Tom Wells and Frank Zappa"

Where is my head these days? ;-)

I underrstand that the New Covenant theology chaps are not very into the idea of Sabbath-keeping today.

That is an issue where they depart from Covenant and Puritan theology.

God Bless

Plus a few others. I believe they deny the covenant of works, however bluecollar might know more.

Matthew: New Covenant Theology is still under construction. Its completion is still years away.

Shawn: I am glad you stopped by. I believe you are right about the covenant of works.

j.wendell: Thanks for stopping by.

I'm surprised you have not rubbed it in about how your Mud Hens have beaten my Redwings.

Matthew and Shawn: New Covenant Theology maintains that only those things taught by Christ and the apostles is binding on the Christian.
