LOOKING TO PRAISE AND WORSHIP JESUS THE CHRIST, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD. 18 No man has ever seen God at any time; the only unique Son, or the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom [in the intimate presence] of the Father, He has declared Him [He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him and He has made Him known].

Question

Who is a Jew?

There does seem to be a difference of opinion amongst professing Christians on this.

Please conduct yourself in a Christian way here.

My son is gonna be on the computer a lot today. That means I won't be able to be on top of things here on the blog as much as I'd like.

Mark,
While there certainly are ethnic Jews, Paul tells us that spiritual or Biblical jews are all that are redeemed as children of the promise and many that are ethnic jews are not in this group.......

Romans 2:29 But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.

Romans 9:6-8 But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel, 7 and not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring, but “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.” 8 This means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as offspring.

Since Jesus was a Jew, and since I have been adopted into His family, there is a sense in which I am a Jew, although my more recent roots are Irish, English and Russian.

Were Adam and Eve Jews?

Joe,
Interesting question. I don't think that there is biblical data to go on here.

My partner in business is a sabra Jew: He was born and raised in Israel. He is also a Christian, or Messianic Jew.

He is the natural branch. I am a Gentile, and have been converted, and quickened by Christ, and so I am the wild branch grafted in to the same tree.

Now there's no more Jew, or Gentile, male, or female, slave or free, for we are all one in Christ, and we are all sons of Abraham.
