LOOKING TO PRAISE AND WORSHIP JESUS THE CHRIST, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD. 18 No man has ever seen God at any time; the only unique Son, or the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom [in the intimate presence] of the Father, He has declared Him [He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him and He has made Him known].

Lordship

10The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. Genesis 49:10 KJV.

6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 9:6-7 KJV.

1Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
2He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
3A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
4He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. Isaiah 42:1-4 KJV.

"a lawgiver "
"unto him shall the gathering of the people be. "
"the government shall be upon his shoulder: "
"upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom,"
"and the isles shall wait for his law. Isaiah 42:1-4 KJV."

So says the Old Testament.

Now onto the New Testament -

13Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Colossians 1:13 KJV.

9But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
10Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10 KJV.

Questions:
Do we preach a divided Christ to the world when we preach His Saviorhood without His Lordship?

What scriptural right do we have to do that?

Matthew 7:13-27 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Believing in Christ and obedience to Him are inseparable.

19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Mark,
It is strange, but apparently the people who promote the static carnal Christian concept all go to churches that preach lordship principles. They attend churches that preach the very thing they deny. I find this a bit odd and would like to encourage them to leave a link to their church website if I am wrong.

It is vital that we preach the Lordship of Christ.

He has been given all authority in heaven and earth and He calls us to submit to His rule.

Matthew,
In the other thread I asked you to elaborate on FGT sanctification in light of 2 Thess 2:13.

I had answered your series of questions and I would like to hear from you on this question!

All Christians are positionally sanctified in Christ. It is through their position in Him that they have the power to overcome and conform to His ways.

Whether they will avail themselves of His strength and seek to appropriate true victory is another question.

Matthew,
Am I to understand that your statement has more weight than Paul in 2 Thess 2:13? If not please give your interpretation.

I don't see what the big deal is with that verse, Wayne.

We are chosen to salvation and the means of reaching that salvation is by sanctification.

Are you reading some funny modern translation?

Wouldn't you say that the verse refute's FGT premise that in some cases sanctification may not occur and a regenerated believer will be left unchanged?

I don't see how.

Though I think it is misleading to talk about sanctification as being an event that occurs. In some passages, sanctifcation is presented as a process, in others it is a position in which all believers are in by virtue of being in Christ. A sound position on sanctification will incorporate both elements.

However one understands sanctification, some believers are walking in a more holy state than others.

Every Blessing in Christ

Matthew,
O.K. Are your views on sanctification changing? IOW, are your views on sanctification moving toward lordship sanctification and away from a free grace carnal Christian position?

No, they are not.

Maybe you have never really understood my position?
